While cancellation in cooking gas will be worth ‘ad eternum’, change in diesel is valid for two months from March 1st; president criticized ‘excessive increase’ at Petrobras
The president Jair Bolsonaro announced in live broadcast on Thursday, 18, changes in the federal taxation of cooking gas and diesel from March 1st. According to him, after meeting with the minister Paulo Guedes and with the economic team, the federal government decided to make changes in taxes starting next month. “As of March 1, there will no longer be any federal tax on cooking gas, ad eternum. There will be no federal tax on gas of kitchen, which currently averages R $ 90 at the end of the line, there for the consumer ”, he said. According to the president, in addition to LPG, diesel will also have the annulment of federal taxes starting in March. In the case of fuel, the value decrease will be valid for two months.
“Why for two months? Because in these two months we are going to study a definitive way of seeking to zero this tax on diesel. Even to help offset this increase, in my opinion, Petrobras’ excessive ”, he pointed out. Bolsonaro criticized the 10% increase in gasoline and 15% in diesel, considered by him as “out of the curve”, and recalled that the state company has autonomy when deciding on increases in the country. He also said that some Brazilian states omit the value of the federal unit’s taxes on the invoice, pushing the responsibility for the high values to the government, and guaranteed that the government will strengthen the inspection of fraud at gas stations around the country.
