The president Jair Bolsonaro sanctioned the law that allows the central bank to welcome voluntary cash or term deposits from financial institutions, informed the press office of the Presidency.

According to the statement released on Thursday night, the measure also modifies Law 12,865/13 to recognize the competence of the Central Bank in defining the remuneration, limits, terms, forms of negotiation and other conditions of deposits of non-financial entities that integrate the Brazilian Payment System (SPB).

With this, the Central Bank will have to present to the Senate’s Committee on Economic Affairs (CAE) detailed information on the acceptance of voluntary time deposits.
