The opening of companies in Brazil grew 61% in the first half, compared to the same period in 2020. There were 643,533 new businesses, the highest record in the last 4 years. The survey of the Market Intelligence Entrepreneur discards individual micro-entrepreneurs. The coordinator of the study, Gilberto Luiz do Amaral, reinforces the performance in the face of the second year of the pandemic in the country. “Services and commerce will be highlighted in the generation of new business. Outpatient services related to the need for medical and dental consultations, clothing retail, combined services to serve holding companies and their investees, transport companies, restaurants, snack bars and similar. This demonstrates that Brazilian businesspeople have a belief in the country’s economic recovery”, he details. The Brazilian Institute of Planning and Taxation points out that there was growth in the opening of companies of all sizes, from small to large, with an investment exceeding R$ 98 billion. São Paulo leads the registration of new business with an increase of 60%, 187,000 companies, followed by Minas Gerais with 64 thousand and Rio de Janeiro with 46 thousand.
