The Indian Medical Association (IMA) has blamed Union Minister Harshavardhan for blaming the controversial Patanjali organization for their Coronel affair. Acharya Balakrishna, general secretary of the Patanjali Research Foundation Trust, said that Harshavardhan had not declared his approval and had not endorsed any of the original Ayurvedic medicines. Yoga guru Baba Ramdev said he had received a certificate from the AYUSH ministry in the Coronel case. He reiterated that the World Health Organization does not approve or reject any drug. The World Health Organization (WHO) has stated that it has not reviewed Coronil and has not certified any drug that could help treat Kovid. He also recalled that their drug had received a ‘COP’ certificate from the DGCI of India. He said there was no confusion on the issue.
However, the Indian Medical Association recently demanded that Coronil be declared unscientific, how it should be approved and promoted by Health Minister Harshavardhan, and that he should give sanjayshi to this country. Baba Ramdev released Coronel at a recent function in the presence of Union Ministers Harshavardhan and Nitin Gadkari.
