The Minister of Economy, Paulo Guedes, stated this Wednesday that the Brazilian economy will grow more than 5% this year and that it could go a long way in 2022.
“This year we are going to grow 5.3%, 5.4% and we can grow a lot next year,” he said, attending a meeting of the Parliamentary Front for Competitive Brazil.
He assessed that the GDP result in the 2nd quarter, with a 0.1% retraction over the previous three months, is given “practically aside”, and considered that the period was the most tragic for the country in terms of deaths by Covid -19.
“Covid has delayed everything, but we are back on the path of structural reforms, administrative reform is already on track again and will be supported by the reformist Congress,” he said.
