They should be released at the end of 2021 and are expected to be more intense and robust
Two of the main Brazilian state-owned companies, Petrobras it’s at Eletrobras, are already discussing their new business plans for the 2022-2026 five-year period. They are expected to be released in the last quarter of 2021, later this year. The expectation is that they will be more intense and robust. Petrobras, for example, highlighted the last years to reduce costs and also recover and repair losses caused by deviations in the government of the Workers Party — has been promoting a disinvestment plan, selling assets. This year, it sold the remaining portion in the BR Distributor in a deal of more than R$11 billion. Imagine that you can think about investing more.
The current plan is $55 billion. The new one, which will be announced by the end of the year, is already being made in a segmented manner by areas within Petrobras. Afterwards, it will be evaluated by the board and taken to the board in a consolidated form to be disclosed. The pre-salt area, which represents more than 70% of Petrobras’ oil production, will again receive special attention. Eletrobras, on the other hand, wants to disclose, between November and December, its new plan in the midst of the transition process for capitalization — 2022 will be a year of transition. The expectation is that it will be able to invest more, because in the last two years R$ 6 billion were meager.
