Four new installments of the benefit will benefit more than 45 million families; the average payment of assistance income will be R $ 250 per month
Payment of emergency aid will inject R $ 44 billion into the Brazilian economy at the end of the four installments that will be paid in April, May, June and July. The values begin to be released this Tuesday, 6, and will benefit more than 45 million families. In the first phase, the program reached 65 million people. The President of the Republic, Jair Bolsonaro, admits that the aid is only an encouragement and will not solve the problem of the population. According to him, however, it is what the federal government can offer at the moment, since the benefit is the result of indebtedness, since there was no expenditure cut or reallocation of funds to guarantee this new aid.
The Minister of Citizenship, João Roma, explains that a new registration will not be necessary to receive the four new payments. “Those who were eligible in December remain to receive aid with the exception of those who have identified some items that do not make them on the 2021 aid list. But, without a doubt, more than 40 million families who pass through a very suffering situation may have access to the benefit of emergency aid in the year 2021 ”, he said. Initially, deposits will be made to digital accounts. Only after a few weeks will it be allowed to withdraw the amounts. The expectation is that at least half of the people use the balances to pay bills.
Caixa’s president, Pedro Guimarães, reassures the beneficiaries and guarantees that, due to the strategy put in place, a rush to bank branches will not be necessary. “The accounts already exist, people will now be receiving a park that they received last year. So from an operational point of view, we are fully prepared in the federal government, in Caixa Econômica, in Ministry of Citizenship“, said. Even with the start of payments, there is still a great deal of pressure to increase the value of emergency aid. The government recalls, however, that the amount stipulated by the National Congress was R $ 44 billion and the economic team defined the values based on this ceiling. The average benefit will be R $ 250 per month. Those who live alone will be entitled to R $ 150. While mothers who are heads of household will receive R $ 375.
