Prime Time Zone, Webdesk: Leading e-commerce giant Amazon India and domestic automaker Mahindra Electric on Tuesday announced their key partnership. Amazon India has said that it will use electric vehicles to deliver goods to customers, for which it has entered into an agreement with Mahindra Electric Mobility Company.
Mahindra has launched lithium-ion battery-powered ‘Trio Zor’ three-wheelers in seven major metro cities across the country, including Hyderabad. ‘We are happy to partner with Amazon in order to prevent carbon emissions and protect the environment. Mahindra Electric Mobility Ltd CMD Mahesh said, “Trio Zor offers the best energy and valuable services to its customers.” As announced in January last year, Amazon India said in a statement that the partnership with Mahindra will enable the company to use 10,000 electric vehicles for its deliveries by 2025.
Also, Mahindra Electric Mobility has announced a revenue target of Rs. It has a turnover target of Rs 10,000 crore. Currently, Mahindra ‘Trio Zor’ has a 56 per cent market share in the electric three-wheeler segment domestically. Among these are Mahindra electric vehicles used by Amazon as well as other e-commerce companies including Bigbasket, Flipkart and Geo Mart.
