Prime Time Zone, Webdesk: Maruti Suzuki India, the country’s largest carmaker, reported 20.2 per cent growth in sales in December 2020. Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) had sold 1,60,226 units in December, up from 1,33,296 units in the same month last year. Domestic sales grew by 17.8 per cent to 1,46,480 units from 1,24,375 units in December 2019.
In the mini car segment, sales of Alto and S-Presso rose by 4.4 per cent to 24,927 units in December, compared to December 2019. Similarly, sales of compact segment vehicles like Swift, Celerio, Ignis, Baleno and Dzire increased by 18.2 per cent to 77,641 units. Mid-size Seda Ciaz sales rose 28.9 percent to 1,270 units, the company said. Exports rose 31.4 per cent to 9,938 units, up 13.4 per cent to 4,95,897 units in the December quarter.
