In a statement, the state-owned company states that readjustments reflect the rise of the dollar and the value of a barrel of oil on the international market
A Petrobras announced, on Friday, 8, the 7.2% increase in the price of gasoline e do cooking gas. Starting this Saturday, the average price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) will go from R$ 3.60 to R$ 3.86 per kilo. With this, the 13 kilos needed to fill a cylinder will cost R$50.15 at the refineries. In the case of fuel, there was an adjustment of R$ 0.20 per liter, from R$ 2.78 to R$ 2.98. In a statement, the state-owned company emphasizes that this is the first increase in gasoline in 58 days and states that the change is important “to ensure that the market continues to be supplied on an economic basis and without the risk of shortages by the different actors responsible for serving the various regions Brazilian companies”.
Also according to Petrobras, the readjustments “reflect part of the rise in international levels of oil prices, impacted by limited supply in the face of growth of world demand, and of the exchange rate, given the strengthening of the dollar globally”. Last week, the state-owned company increased the price of diesel oil by 8.9%, in the first readjustment in 85 days. The rise occurs amid the rise in the value of a barrel of oil on the international market with the recovery of the world’s largest economies.
