THE government of São Paulo announced on Monday, 22, the “Bolsa Trabalho” program, which aims to offer 100 thousand job openings in part-shift and training courses for residents of the state with financial assistance of R $ 450 per month. The vacancies, mostly aimed at public services that require employees, will be made available gradually in the coming months. “Thirty thousand places will be opened from next week, starting on March 1st, and another 70 thousand starting on May 1st,” said the governor João Doria. Bolsa Trabalho already exists, but it has a value of R $ 330. According to the secretary of Economic Development, Patrícia Ellen, the increase of the money distributed in the program was discussed in the Legislative Assembly of São Paulo this Monday and the law must be submitted for approval by the end of the week.
“As they are people who live with other people in their homes, this income will impact the whole family. For each person who receives [a renda]at least, on average, four people will be impacted. We are talking about a program that will transform the lives of at least half a million Brazilians in São Paulo, ”said Ellen. The training of these professionals will last at least five months, a period considered necessary to adapt them to the market, and may be extended by public agencies. Within the Bolsa Trabalho, the government must copy a program put in place by the city of São Paulo and call on mothers and fathers to work as employees in the schools where their children study.
In addition to the immediate employment program, the government of São Paulo announced aid of R $ 210, transportation, food and internet assistance for 30 thousand residents of the state in the “Via Rápida” course program. “We have adults and young people today looking for jobs that are taking technical courses at Etecs, professional technical courses, and many of them today are unable to pay for their transportation, to pay for their food,” he said. All frequent students who have completed at least 10 days of school and prove financial difficulties are candidates for receiving the amount. “We ask the people of São Paulo not to give up. Don’t give up on the course, because here we are going to grow, have the economic recovery and distribute the cake to the population. We are going to go through this period, ”said the secretary.
