Project will unify existing assistance, such as Youth Action and Citizen Income, and employ 20,000 parents of public school students
The government of Sao Paulo will unify the assistance programs that exist in the State and expand its reach by creating the People’s Bag, the largest social program in the history of São Paulo. About half a million people will be impacted directly and indirectly with the transfer of up to R $ 500 per person per month. The investment is R $ 1 billion already in the year 2021. Among the sectors that will be impacted by the new program, are: employment, education, professional qualification, incentive, housing, health and social assistance.
Among the practical examples cited by the government, is Youth Action – which goes from R $ 80 to R $ 100 monthly. The same happens with the amount received by the beneficiaries of the Citizen Income. The project will be sent later this Wednesday, 7, to the Legislative Assembly of the State of São Paulo, where it should be appreciated and deliberated in about 45 days. The expectations are that, between May and June, the paulistas are already registered and receiving the physical or digital cards of the program.
Among the novelties of the expansion, is the hiring of 20 thousand fathers and mothers of public school students to work in the units where their children study, as collaborators. The amount paid per month will be R $ 500 with a workload of four hours daily. To date, state government programs are: Bolsa Bolsa, Ação Jovem, Bolsa Auxílio, Via Rápida, Bolsa Talento Desportivo, Bolsa Bolsa Social, Hiring Support Agents and Bolsa Renda Cidadã. Programs announced later will also integrate the Bolsa do Povo.
