Prime Time Zone, Webdesk: Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari on Friday suggested that the use of electric vehicles be made mandatory for all government ministries and departmental officials. He also said that the government should give subsidy to buy electric cooking appliances without supporting cooking gas in homes domestically. Participating in an event, he said that in the context of subsidizing cooking gas already, such subsidy should also be given to electric cooking appliances. He believes the use of electric cooking appliances will reduce reliance on gas imports. Gadkari said the use of electric vehicles should be made mandatory for all government officials.
