The number of orders from unemployment benefit US United States fell from 24,000 in the week ended July 24, to 400,000, according to seasonally adjusted data published on Thursday by the US Department of Labor.
Last week’s result came above the expectations of analysts consulted by the Wall Street Journal, which predicted 380 thousand requests.
The previous week’s total was revised upwards from 419,000 to 424,000 orders. O number of continued orders, in turn, advanced from 7,000 in the week ended July 17, to 3.269 million.
