Igor Rickli, Lucifer’s interpreter in Genesis, at Record, has big projects for his career. The 37-year-old actor plans to become a TV presenter after years at the helm of major theatrical productions and soap operas on Globo and Record. The artist has even started to outline his new endeavor. “I have some ideas in mind,” he says.
“I am focused on Genesis now, but I have a great desire to present a program on television. It is a future project”, he adds in a conversation with TV News.
The desire exists, but he admits that it is too early to talk about anything concrete. However, delivery that the turnaround can start at any time. “Who knows, there may be something new out there?”, He provokes.
Rickli started his career as a model. His career as an actor began in the theater. In 2010, he starred in the musical show Hair. In 2013, he debuted on TV as the villain Alberto de Flor do Caribe, currently on replay at Globo. In fact, he has divided his remote control between the two broadcasters.
“When I’m at home, I see the soap [Flor do Caribe]. It is a job in which I learned a lot and for which I have a lot of affection. It marked my debut on TV “, he recalls.
The actor reflects on the fact that he can be seen in two different works by the public. “I am happier to see that, after eight years, I continue working and living on the profession that I love”, he analyzes.
“It fills me with pride. It is not easy to be an artist in our country. So, surviving on art is a reason to celebrate,” he says. Still at Globo, he acted in Alto Astral (2015).
At Record, his current home, he is mending his fifth biblical plot: before, he made The Promised Land (2016), O Rico e Lázaro (2017), Apocalipse (2017) and Jesus (2019).
Return to work after Covid-19
In Genesis, Rickli gives life to humanity’s greatest villain. As Lucifer, he instigates the worst in men and, unlike his castmates, is present in all phases of history.
In 2020, Record had to stop the work of large production because of the pandemic. The actor was recording the first scenes of the show in Morocco when the team urgently needed to return to Brazil. In Rio de Janeiro, he tested positive for Covid-19.
“It was scary because it was very early in the pandemic. We had very little information about the disease. Still at the height of the discussion about treatments and alternatives. I was isolated at home and, luckily, I had very mild symptoms. But it was scary,” he recalls.
The return to the studios only happened in October, with the actors of the station following a strict security protocol to avoid the contagion and the spread of Covid-19.
“We resumed with great care and following different protocols to be able to record. Returning to work was important for my mentality. I like to feel myself producing, creating. In the pandemic, I cut trees, did work at home, built a chicken coop. .. I can’t stand still “, he confides.
“I understand the seriousness of Covid-19. And it is important that we are aware that it is a serious disease and that many people have died. I follow all the protocols and I know that the broadcaster has this care with us. I have already lost count of how many tests I did (laughs). There are many, “he adds.
The first chapters of Genesis increased Record’s audience. The positive performance serves as fuel for Rickli. “The soap opera is very well produced. I see the audience more excited and willing to embark on history with us. The whole cast is very committed to the project. We want to show a beautiful story”, he concludes.
