Belo spoke on Thursday (18) hours after leaving the José Frederico Marques Public Prison, in Benfica, in the north of Rio de Janeiro. The singer, who was arrested for carrying out an illegal concert with agglomeration in Complexo da Maré, in Rio de Janeiro, blamed the clandestine event during the Covid-19 pandemic on the production company and excused himself from guilt.
“The responsibility for the health protocols of events in which I perform, as well as all artists, is exclusive to the contractors. It is the same case of choosing the place where the presentations take place. I guarantee the safety of my staff and I care about the protection of the public, but the person responsible for it, in this case, was the producer who asked me to sing “, argued the musician, in a text published on Instagram.
The pagodeiro refers to Célio Caetano and Henriques Marques, partners of the producer who hired him to sing in the show without the authorization of the authorities last Saturday (13). The three and the trafficker Jorge Luiz Moura Barbosa, Alvarenga, are responsible for breach of sanitary measure, crime of epidemic, invasion of public building and criminal association.
“This invitation was contractually made official, evidenced by invoices, with everything done within the law. This will be proven in court,” said the artist, who also stressed that his trajectory “despite the regrets, allows me to assume mistakes when necessary and defend myself when they blame me for mistakes I didn’t make “.
In the message, addressed to fans, friends and family, he thanked the support during the period in which he was imprisoned especially by the woman, Gracyanne Barbosa, “a fortress”, as he defined, and reinforced being innocent.
“In this context, I thank my wife for being with me yesterday. A fortress. And to the members of our family and the entire artistic class, as well as my fans, who mobilized to ask the obvious: ‘Why only Belo?’ We also don’t understand “, he asked.
Belo was released on the morning of Thursday (18) after the judge Milton Fernandes de Souza ordered the issuance of a release permit because he understands that the fact that the pagodeiro responds in freedom will not influence the case. He remained in prison for less than 24 hours.
“In addition, I am still at the disposal of the Justice, now at liberty, and I have faith that we will overcome this bad moment together. Soon, we will all be back to work and we will meet again on stage”, concluded the musician.
