Gilberto Nogueira had his self-declared blackness questioned several times at the house of Big Brother Brasil 21. Projota and Nego Di occasionally return to the subject, always in a tone of debauchery. In addition to not having the right to invalidate someone else’s racial declaration, the singer and humorist can touch – even without knowing it – a painful wound from the economist’s childhood.
The comedian, who is black, reproduced a statement highly racist in a mocking tone: “He’s dirty. If he rubs well …”, he said, doubting his colleague’s ethnicity.
The economist has already gone through a similar situation within his own family when his fatherhood was questioned because of his skin tone. “The father thought that Gilberto was not his son because he was born lighter. With that, he was also beaten and suffered persecution”, revealed Jacira Santana, mother of the economist, in an interview with columnist Patrícia Kogut, of the newspaper O Globo.
The racial issue in the reality participant’s life only worsened his situation of vulnerability, since the father is addicted to drugs and made his wife and children victims of domestic violence.
“I had to flee to São Paulo for a while to escape. At that time, Gilberto was four years old and lived with my mother-in-law,” said Jacira, who returned to fetch her son as soon as she heard that he was still being abused.
“The father continued to chase us. Once he even threw a bomb in the kitchen of the house we were living in. It was a time of great suffering, and Gilberto still has many hurts and traumas from all this until today. After a while, I managed to part ways and raised my three children on my own, “said the economist’s mother.
Gilberto, so far, has not heard of the unfortunate comments made by his colleagues, but Jacira is keeping an eye on everything and has used her social networks to express disapproval. Check out:
