After a long pause, the Atlanta cast finally got together to start recording the series’ 3rd and 4th season. The production team traveled to Europe in March to start work. Creator, producer and protagonist Donald Glover published a photo on social media to record the reunion.
The two seasons will be recorded in sequence. The series hiatus was long, considering that Atlanta’s second year was aired in the United States in 2018.
Last year, John Landgraf, president of FX, said that Glover and his team of writers took advantage of the pauses forced by the pandemic to finalize the scripts for the new years.
Initially, the plan was to launch the third season in January 2021, with the fourth coming in the second half. As Covid-19’s situation worsened in the United States, planning had to be changed.
The Atlanta recordings are not just going to take place on the European continent. After passing through London, Paris and Amsterdam, the production should return to the USA for a passage through the city that gives name to the production.
Atlanta enjoys a rare success from both the public and the media. For its two seasons, the series has become the hottest comedy on American TV, as it has managed to mix funny situations with current social themes.
In Brazil, the two seasons produced from Atlanta are available in the Netflix catalog.
