After two weeks of meetings with Derek (Patrick Dempsey) on the “beach of dreams”, Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) came across another doctor killed in the episode of Grey’s Anatomy that the Sony Channel aired on Tuesday (2). George O’Malley (TR Knight), who has not appeared on the series since 2009, “resurrected” to discuss difficult choices with the protagonist.
Interned at Gray Sloan for contracting Covid-19, the neurosurgeon has her life in the hands of Richard (James Pickens Jr.), whom she chose to make important decisions about her health and survival in last week’s chapter.
Responsible for the case of Meredith, DeLuca (Giacomo Gianniotti) and Teddy (Kim Raver) try to convince the boss to include the patient in an experimental treatment for the coronavirus, but the veteran is reluctant because he cannot predict the consequences of this choice.
Until Richard makes up his mind, the protagonist talks to George about the deaths of him and Derek, the departure of Cristina Yang (Sandra Oh) and how it is possible to move on after a loss, however difficult it may seem.
O’Malley shows discontent with Meredith and her colleagues for having laughed during his wake, and she fights with her friend for dying to save a stranger at a bus stop 11 years ago.
Jo and Jackson: no-compromise sex deal
Isolation and prejudice
Locked in his home after testing positive for Covid, Tom Koracick (Greg Germann) insists he is fine and asks to go back to work, but his desire is promptly refused. He then adapts a zombie extermination game for a study on the evolution of the pandemic in the world.
The surly scenes from the surly with Taryn (Jaicy Elliot) quickly take on a dramatic tone when Tom appears in the midst of a crisis of tremors and sweat, completely alone after ignoring a visit from Teddy.
If the cardiologist suffers from the rejection of her ex-lover, the mood is hot for Jo (Camilla Luddington) and Jackson (Jesse Williams), who decide to have sex to relax the stress caused by the virus. But the tension between the two indicates that the agreement between friends will grow to something more serious soon.
In the other medical case of the week, an Asian patient who was misdiagnosed by Owen (Kevin McKidd) returns to the hospital in a much worse state. Mabel (Sylvia Kwan) and Nico (Alex Landi) debate whether the surgeon was prejudiced in his analysis, because diverculitis on the right side is more common in Orientals, and the specialist has not even considered this hypothesis.
Nico, who had already felt the rejection of a patient who did not want to be treated by an Asian – the pandemic was first identified in China -, confronts the ex-soldier, who starts to question his skill and instincts.
At the end of the episode, Webber finally realizes that Meredith’s health is rapidly deteriorating and asks DeLuca to get her a place in such an experimental treatment in Manhattan. Bailey (Chandra Wilson) appears to say that he made the right decision.
After all, as you give the name of the chapter, You’ll Never Walk Alone, everyone will always have a friend to accompany you in the most difficult moments. Even though, in the case of Meredith, these friends have already died and are apparently the fruit of their imagination.
The Sony Channel airs unpublished episodes of the 17th season of Grey’s Anatomy every Tuesday at 9pm.
