José Mayer updated his social networks on Wednesday (3) and published on Instagram a photo in which he resurfaced with white hair, smiling, on his property in the city of Itaipava, in the mountainous region of Rio de Janeiro. The actor has been away from TV for three years due to the accusation of sexual harassment behind the scenes of Globo.
Pedro’s interpreter account of the Laços de Família replay on the social network was maintained by his adviser and was created to recall his work on television and in the theater.
According to columnist Flávio Ricco, the artist no longer intends to act in very long works on TV. He can make a few short appearances in the productions.
Mayer has been out of the limelight since an accusation of sexual harassment made by the station’s costume designer, Suellen Tonani, in April 2017. At the time, she reported several episodes in which she was the victim of inappropriate actor behavior. In one, Mayer placed his left hand on her genitals. In an open letter, he admitted the attacks on the employee.
“Even though I did not intend to offend, attack or disrespect, I admit that my sexist pranks have exceeded the limits of the respect with which I must treat my colleagues. I am responsible for what I do,” he said at the time.
After taking Zé Mayer away from productions indefinitely, Globo decided to end the relationship with him in 2019, after 35 years at home.
