The journey of Spain’s most famous criminals has not been an easy one. Hired by the Professor (Álvaro Morte), unknown people planned and carried out an robbery of the Mint of Spain. Now, in the fifth season of La Casa de Papel, the thieves will need to overcome their lack of leadership and face the army to get out of the Spanish Central Bank alive.
In the Netflix series, the Professor decides to honor his father with an act of revenge against the system. To do this, he orchestrates an assault on the Mint. Upon completion of the crime, the lives of all the bad guys seemed resolved.
Tokyo (Úrsula Corberó) and Rio (Miguel Herrán) went to an isolated island, while Denver (Jaime Lorente) and Mónica (Esther Acebo) took care of the girl’s son in the middle of the city.
The master of crime, on the other hand, went to Thailand, where he waited for ex-investigator Raquel Murillo (Itziar Ituño) to start the new novel. At the same time that Nairobi (Alba Flores) and Helsinki (Darko Peric) were partying in Argentina.
Millionaires, they no longer needed to steal or work for a living. But after a mistake by the young Rio, the police managed to find him and arrest him. Not knowing what to do, Tokyo sought help from the only person capable of saving the boy: the Professor.
To save him, Álvaro Morte’s character gathered the old team and hired other members to commit another robbery: now, the Central Bank of Spain. With the intention of negotiating Rio’s release, the Professor used the crime to pressure the police and the Spanish government. The initial plan worked, but the situation turned into chaos.
Alba Flores as Nairobi
Before the new season of La Casa de Papel, the group of criminals faced the worst moment of the series so far. Nairobi’s death affected all members, especially her best friend Tokyo. Stressed out, Denver once again lost his temper, and as a result, Monica (now called Stockholm) ended her relationship with him.
The situation flared up even more when Rio began to approach the new maiden, which caused jealousy in both Tokyo and Denver. To make matters worse, new member Palermo (Rodrigo de la Serna) has not stopped humiliating the emotional Helsinki.
Formerly known as Raquel, Lisbon is now on the side of criminals, but was arrested by the police during an escape. With his girlfriend at risk, the Professor formulated a strategy to rescue the former investigator. Plan Paris then came into action and worked perfectly. Now, she is meeting with criminals, but this time, inside the Central Bank.
Despite the release of Lisbon, the fourth season ended at a tense moment. The investigator in the case, Alicia (Najwa Nimri), was used as a scapegoat to justify the operation’s failure. Instead of falling alone, she accused the entire department with the same allegations.
Fired and fleeing an arrest warrant, Alicia was finally able to locate the Professor. Upon arriving at the hideout, she surrendered the brains of the crime and cut off communication between him and his team.
In addition to not having the voice of the group’s leadership, the criminals will have to face a new and dangerous enemy: the Spanish army. Tired of looking like a fool, Colonel Tamayo (Fernando Cayo) called on the soldiers to put an end to this assault.
The fifth season of the series will be presented in two volumes on Netflix. The first part hits the platform this Friday (September 3), and the remaining five episodes are scheduled to premiere on December 3rd.
