Regina Casé made sure not to spoil Amor de Mãe’s surprises, but revealed some details about what she called the most anticipated moment of the nine o’clock soap opera. The actress confessed that she was unable to sleep a wink the night before the sequence in which Lourdes finally reveals to Danilo (Chay Suede) that she is his biological mother.
“I can’t give any spoilers, but I couldn’t sleep on the eve of the scene that everyone is waiting for. That actor, I can’t say his name, either. Now, I can say that it surprised even us. It was so beautiful and so strong, I hope it touches the hearts of all of you “, joked the actress, laughing, in an interview with Fábio Júdice in RJ1 this Saturday (3).
The nanny currently faces a via-crucis in Manuela Dias’ booklet, held hostage by Thelma (Adriana Esteves) and locked in a cage like an animal. She even used a spoon to unscrew the chain that held her to the walls, but she was dragged to hell again after running into Veiga (Eduardo BR) in the middle of the road.
“It was really a bar. There were days when I came home and my knee didn’t bend, because I really carried that chain. To this day, I have a souvenir here and another one on my ankle,” he confesses.
The interpreter adds that, in the next chapters, the audience will see Dona Lurdes turn around to escape the clutches of the villain played by Adriana Esteves.
“My nickname [nos bastidores] it became Regina Cruise, by Tom Cruise. I did a scene without a stuntman that the people were shocked without knowing how I did it “, she shoots, in reference to the actor who is known for dispensing help in the most dangerous sequences.
Regina still says she is relieved to have put an end to production, which was abruptly interrupted by the coronavirus pandemic, after weeks of uncertainty about when work at Globo Studios, in Rio, would resume.
“I would like to go down in history for a happier reason, but [a volta ao trabalho] it’s really historic. We have to celebrate because we managed to record at this time of trial and pain for so many people “, he ponders.
She believes that Lourdes is a tribute to all the people she met during her travels in Brazil, many of them on business. “Not only women, but I see some gestures in my character that would be more like my grandfather than my grandmother”, he analyzes.
A year and a half since the first restrictive measures, she remains isolated in a farm in the interior of Rio de Janeiro, next to practically the whole family – husband Estevão Ciavatta, children Roque and Benedita Casé, grandson Brás and son-in-law João Pedro Januário.
“Being able to accompany a son or grandson 24 hours a day was something I never thought I would do in my life, because I always worked like hell. And now I can see every little thing, every tooth falling. I was going to lose it all, so the people have to look on the positive side too “, concludes the veteran.
Amor de Mãe returned to the air just to show how the Lourdes saga ends. The final phase has 23 chapters in all and will say goodbye to the public on the 9th. The next week is the last of the plot.
Then, Globo will have another primetime replay: Império (2014), a booklet written by Aguinaldo Silva. The unprecedented Um Lugar ao Sol, with Cauã Reymond playing twins, was postponed to debut in the second half of this year due to the worsening of the Covid-19 pandemic.
