Writer and former director of SBT, Ricky Medeiros died at the age of 69 on Tuesday night (15). The cause of death was not disclosed. The wake took place at the Crematorium Memorial Paulista on the afternoon of Wednesday (16) and lasted only one hour. The ceremony was aimed only at family and close friends.
Frederick Medeiros was born on February 6, 1951 in Scranton, Pennsylvania, in the United States. He arrived in Brazil in 1964 and saw his passion for television blossom. He returned to the USA and graduated with a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Radio and Television from Syracuse University, in the State of New York.
Ricky made history in SBT, acting for more than 20 years in the station. He directed the Silvio Santos Program and was also the Program Director. He even became an interpreter of the animator on his international trips. Soon, he became one of the right arms of Silvia Abravanel’s father.

But he did not just become famous in the TV universe. He also left his legacy in literature. Ricky Medeiros became interested in spiritualism during his adolescence, after the death of his younger brother, Joe, to whom he has always made dedications in his books. He believed that the brother was his main spiritual mentor.
His first book, A Passagem, released in 1999, was a sales success and was also published in other countries. Other titles known to the writer are When He Comes Back and Breaks Again.
