Simone and Simaria “got tired” of waiting for the end of the pandemic and decided to resume the concert schedule starting this weekend. This Sunday (4), they will have a special Easter live, the first performance of the duo after deciding to leave the reality show The Voice Kids.
“Now our priority remains focused on the career, we love to sing”, said Simaria in an interview to TV News. “We never imagined that we would go so far without doing what we love most, which is singing. We never imagined living days as difficult as we are living. But, I have faith that better days will come with the arrival of the vaccine”, added Simone.
The idea left the sisters to leave the Globo program after three seasons. The pandemic influenced the decision. In the interval between the 2020 season and this year, which was postponed to May, Simone became pregnant and gave birth to Zaya in February. Because she belonged to the Covid-19 risk group, she chose to preserve herself and avoid the frequent plane trips that she would need to take due to the recordings.
“I have a very small baby. My Zaya is not even two months old. We are in the middle of a pandemic, it would be too risky for me and the baby to be on a plane, recording time … But, I’m sure the doors they will always be open. We love the Voice family and we are already homesick “, commented Simone.
The sisters did not expect them to be away from the stage for so long, but the second wave of the pandemic hit Brazil hard, and they were forced to postpone the plans they had drawn up for this year. To quell some of the nostalgia for the fans, they decided to return to the formula that became the new way for artists to survive in the midst of chaos.
“This will be the first live of 2021 and we really wanted it to be special! We decided on Easter Sunday to bring a little joy to people’s homes on this date of love and togetherness. We selected a special repertoire and we will have our friend Mução to present and animate even more. There will be current hits from the new DVD, Under My Roof, old career hits, forró classics and other current hits that the public has been enjoying a lot “, explained Simaria.
The live is scheduled to start at 5 pm on Sunday (4), and will be broadcast on the duo’s official YouTube channel.
