Eliminated in the previous phase of the Libertadores de América, Grêmio will play in the South American Championship. The competition will debut on Thursday (22), at 7:15 pm (Brasília time), against the modest La Equidad-COL. Played in Porto Alegre, the match will be broadcast live and exclusively by Conmebol TV on pay-per-view – it will not pass on SBT or Fox Sports.
In Brazil, Conmebol TV is the only one that has the South American broadcasting rights. Pay-per-view, which also includes Libertadores games, is available for purchase by subscribers of operators Claro, Sky and DirecTV Go, an online TV service – the price is the same: R $ 39.90 per month.
Customers of other companies, such as Vivo and Oi, for example, are unable to buy the duels. It is also not possible to close the monthly fee for Conmebol TV separately, as is the case with Premiere Play, by Grupo Globo. The narration and comments are made by the team of the BandSports channel, which has a partnership with the service.
The Claro client accesses Conmebol TV through channels 711 to 714 or through the Now application / website. Sky subscribers can check the games on channels 220 and 221 SD, 620 and 621 HD or through the Sky Play application / website.
As Grêmio fell in the pre-Libertadores, will have to play the South American, which, from this season, is played in a new format. Tricolor gaúcho is in Group H, which, in addition to La Equidad, also has Lanús-ARG and Aragua-VEN. Only the first in the bracket progresses to the round of 16.
Imortal hired Tiago Nunes to replace Renato Gaúcho, who was fired after four years and seven months at the helm of the team. The new coach, champion of the South American in 2018 with Athletico-PR, still does not direct the team this Thursday.
