Eduardo Suplicy asked for the arrest of Carlos Massa, the Mouse, after the SBT presenter defended military intervention and hygienist measures against beggars and attacked the Federal Constitution. The councilor of São Paulo for the PT also challenged the communicator to a debate about the dictatorship, in force in Brazil between 1964 and 1985.

“For his declarations in favor of the military dictatorship, Ratinho deserves punishment similar to that of deputy Daniel Silveira (PSL-SP). For 11×0 the STF decided that he should be in prison”, argued the politician, making a parallel with the Bolsonarist parliamentarian he was detained last night (16) for attacking the STF (Supreme Federal Court) and had his preventive detention unanimously endorsed by the Court the following day.

“I challenge presenter Carlos Massa, Ratinho, to hold a debate in which he defends the return of the military to power in Brazil, as happened from 1964 onwards, in the military dictatorship, and the extinction by expelling the street population, through force and weapons, in which I have the opportunity to defend democracy and institutions that mean the realization of justice “, added the former senator, defender of the implantation of the basic citizenship income as an instrument of poverty reduction.

Supla’s father also countered Ratinho by saying that the majority of the population is not in favor of the military returning to power. “Contrary to what he says, I am sure that the people will choose democracy”, he stressed.

Supporter of the military dictatorship

Yesterday (17), Ratinho, who is an ally of President Jair Bolsonaro, suggested, in his program on Rádio Massa, owned by him, the return of the “golden button men” to “put order in the house”, in reference to the uniforms of the military.

The presenter also said he was in favor of actions against homeless people, citing as an example measures taken by former New York Mayor Rudolph Giuliani and former Singapore Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew (1923-2015), who governed the Asian country for 31 years and has been known to suppress individual freedoms.

“It is time to do the same thing that was done in Singapore. A general came in, fixed the country and, a year later, held the elections. But first he fixed it, called everyone denounced and said: ‘You have 24 hours to leave the country or will shot ‘. He cleaned Singapore, “he said.

“He (Rudolph Giuliani) researched what the people were afraid of and it was the beggars knocking on the doors. He cleaned the beggars in the city. What were the people afraid of? Homeless. He took all the homeless people out and gave a place for the guys to turn around. He cleaned everything up and the press was in favor of him. Here, if he moves with a homeless person, the press falls on the politician “, commented the SBT anchor.
