With the six-month break in the recording of Amor de Mãe, Regina Casé feared that she would no longer find the essence of Lourdes when resuming work. Out of the rhythm of Manuela Dias’ booklet, the actress was afraid of not being able to reach the tone of the protagonist on the return of the nine o’clock soap.
“But that little bag, with the washcloth and the glasses, they make a miracle. I stayed for more than six months, it was just me putting on the bag, the glasses and the towel, which I already started to speak with her accent. Lourdes arrives It was easier than I imagined, “she said, in an interview with columnist Carla Bittencourt, of the Metrópoles newspaper.
The hiatus period was implemented due to the increase in cases of Covid-19 in Brazil. Globo’s production team used the pause to readjust the safety protocols and try to ensure the health of all professionals involved in the soap opera.
Amor de Mãe was paused in March last year and was recorded again in September. Instead, the broadcaster opted to re-view prime time reruns. First, Fina Estampa (2011) was re-presented in a special version, and now the public follows A Força do Querer (2017).
Regina Casé explained that, despite the hiatus, she still kept in touch with some people from the production: “There was not a day when I didn’t receive a message from a makeup artist or the boy who was looking for us in the electric cart, Vinícius”, he commented.
Already on the return of the recordings, the actress had an idea to cheer up her colleagues. On Saturdays, the interpreter from Lurdes carried a speaker, and the cast was amused by the sound of the pagoda: “I managed to bring the good weather I had at Esquenta and among my friends there. It was impressive the welcome, the affection. the fear passed quickly ”, explained the artist.

Scheduled to air on March 15, the second part of Amor de Mãe will reveal many important outcomes of the novel, such as the meeting of Lourdes with her lost son, Domênico (Chay Suede), the discovery of the evils of Thelma (Adriana Esteves) and the end of the villain Álvaro (Irandhir Santos).
Despite the volume of secrets to be revealed, Regina Casé chose not to watch anything before the public could check the final result as well. However, the artist gave a spoiler of what the viewer will see in the outcome.
“There were intense chapters. Exciting and strong. I played in a way, that I have no idea what is there. I don’t know. The scenes were very definitive. Everything was the end of a year of relationship”, concluded the actress.
