Prime Time Zone, Sports: India and New Zealand will meet in the final of the inaugural ICC World Test Championship. The ICC has previously ruled that the final will take place at the prestigious Lord’s Ground in London between June 18 and 22. However, the ICC said it was changing the venue in the wake of the Corona epidemic. The Lord said the WTC final would take place at the Ages Bowl in Southampton instead.
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has told the ICC it is difficult to create a biobubble environment at Lord’s. It also said that last year Pakistan hosted the West Indies series in the Ages Bowl. A five-star hotel adjacent to the Ages Bowl in Southampton, along with a field for players to practice on. The ECB told the ICC that the biobubble was still going on in Southampton, so the final should be held there. The ICC has decided to set up Southampton as the venue. It is learned that the BCCI has also been informed about this unofficially. BCCI vice-president Rajiv Shukla told ANI media that the final venue had changed.
