As coach Jorge Sampaoli left the command of Galo after the match against Palmeiras, the team will be headed initially by Lucas Gonçalves and Éder Aleixo, assistants of the club’s fixed technical committee.
THE Atlético Mineiro will start the 2021 season with a team full of reservations. After the team ends its participation in the Brazilian championship in third place, with the 2-0 victory over Palm Trees, on Thursday night, the club gave off the 14 most used players in the campaign, although it already has a commitment at the weekend. Everson, Guga, Réver, Alonso, Arana, Franco, Allan, Jair, Nathan, Hyoran, Savarino, Sasha and Keno will have ten days off, resuming activities at Atlético-MG on March 8. Chilean Eduardo Vargas will have a shorter rest time, with his return scheduled for the 4th.
As the coach Jorge Sampaoli left the command of Atlético after the match against Palmeiras – he is in the sights of Olympique de Marseille -, the team will be led initially by Lucas Gonçalves and Éder Aleixo, assistants of the fixed technical committee of the club, which seeks a coach in the market, that Renato Gaúcho, now in charge of Grêmio, seems to be the preferred name of the board. Until the return of all holders, Atlético will play three games in the Mineiro Championship: they will face URT, Sunday, in Mineirão, visit Tombense, next Thursday, and will receive Uberlândia, on the 7th.
At the weekend, in the first of these commitments, Atlético will be able to say goodbye to Victor and Diego Tardelli, who are at the end of their contract. Starting in March, he will be able to enroll the three reinforcements that have already arrived at the club for the 2021 season: left-back Dodô, midfielder Nacho Fernandez and the attacker Hulk.
