Assistants Antônio Oliveira and Bernardo Franco will share the role of the coach, who should also not be with the team in the final round of the championship
THE Athletico-PR reported on the morning of this Saturday, 20, that the coach Paulo Autuori was diagnosed with Covid-19 and will not lead the team in the match against Guild, which takes place on Sunday, at 18h15, in Porto Alegre, being the penultimate round of the Brazilian Championship. Due to the illness, it is also likely that the coach will not be able to lead the team in the final round against Sport, as it takes ten days of isolation. According to the Paraná club, the coach “presents mild symptoms of the disease, is fulfilling social isolation and receiving all the necessary medical care”. Assistants Antônio Oliveira and Bernardo Franco will share the role in charge of the team against Grêmio.
“It is important to note that Athletico is taking all measures to ensure the safety and health of all its employees and family members,” added the club, in a statement. With the positive test revealed this Saturday, Autuori should only return to training the team from Paraná next season, since he will still be in isolation next Thursday, when Ahtletico-PR ends his participation in the Brasileirão against Sport, at home, at the Baixada Arena. The game, like all the others in the final round, will be at 9:30 pm. On the field, Athletico, who are still fighting for a place in the previous phase of the next edition of the Libertadores, will not have left-back Márcio Azevedo, midfielder Erick and midfielder Fernando Canesin and Lucho González, all recovering from their respective injuries. They had already stayed out of the last few matches.
