Time would face Lazio in Rome, but was not allowed to travel by the Local Health Treasury
Forbidden to leave I have due to an outbreak with nine cases of coronavirus, the delegation of Torino did not travel to Rome to face the Lazio this Monday, 1st, by Italian Championship, and lost WO – defeat by 3 to 0 and the loss of one point as a penalty. The travel veto was issued yesterday by the competent Local Health Treasury, which it considered too risky to allow the displacement of a group in which several cases of infection were detected in the last few days, some of them with the English variant of the coronavirus. The Turin club, which requested and obtained a postponement of last Friday’s match against Sassuolo, again asked the Italian organization to reschedule the confrontation, but the extraordinary Council denied it.
Lazio went to the Olympic Stadium, stage of the game, with the refereeing team and, a priori, won 3 to 0. However, the Turin club warned, through its president, Urbano Cairo, that he will present an appeal to avoid punishments and get a new date for the match. It is a situation similar to that experienced by Napoli in October, when he was unable to travel precisely to Turin to face Juventus because of some cases of contagion in his squad. In the beginning, the Sporting Judge also defined a 3-0 loss and a point loss, but months later the ‘Azzurri’ appeal was accepted, and the game will be played on a new date, probably on the 17th, but there has not yet been an official announcement.
