O Corinthians assumed the leadership of National Ranking of Women’s Football Clubs gives CBF 2021. With 10,792 points after the official update of the Competitions Directorate of the entity, the team from São Paulo rose two places in this year’s update – in the previous season, it was in the third position. The team from Alvinegro paulista achieved the feat after having made an excellent campaign in the last Brazilian championship, sold of the most unquestionable. Check out the top-10 at the end of the story. The recent success of the alvinegro club, in fact, had an effect on the ranking. Ninth placed in the 2019 standings, Corinthians reached the leadership in just two years after lining up achievements under the baton of coach Arthur Elias and becoming a power in the sport. In the meantime, Corinthians was runner-up in the Brazilian Women’s 2019, champion of the Women’s Libertadores Cup in the same year and champion of the Women’s Brazilian 2020. In addition, it won third place in the 2020 Libertadores.
In second place, with 9,216 points, Ferroviária appears. Leader of the ranking in 2020, the Araraquara (SP) team gave up a position, but maintained its tradition by remaining in a prominent place in women’s football. This month, the team from the interior of São Paulo proved this by winning the 2020 Libertadores title. The ranking is established based on a calculation of the clubs’ performance in competitions in the last five seasons. In addition to the list of teams presented in the National Ranking of Women’s Football Clubs, CBF also publishes the National Ranking of the Federations.
