Hernan Crespo, coach of the São Paulo, lamented the imbroglio involving the club and Daniel Alvesthe right-back was dismissed by the board after refusing to train while his debt was outstanding. After the defeat to the Fluminense, last Sunday night, at Maracanã, the Argentine coach stated that the conflict happened at a difficult time for Tricolor, as the veteran’s immediate reserves were not available. “For me it’s simply a board situation. A personal issue with Daniel and they must be resolved and I must not enter. But I can say that yes, it was not an ideal time, because as I mentioned before, we didn’t have Igor Vinicius (suspended) to play and we wouldn’t have Orejuela (hurt), besides having a new situation that we had only a few times in the Paulistão with Galeano”, he said.

Crespo, however, praised the disposition of Galeano, a young Paraguayan improvised on the right wing. “Two days ago we had the situation with Dani Alves. Igor Vinícius cannot play and his replacement Orejuela suffered a minor adductor injury. We had to create a situation with Galeano that went very well and I would like to congratulate him for his effort”, said the coach, who is trying to recover the good football of São Paulo. The next confrontation of the São Paulo team is scheduled to be on Wednesday, 15, at Castelão, in a decisive duel for the quarterfinals of the Brazil’s Cup. As the first game ended in a 2-2 draw, the São Paulo team needs a simple victory to advance in the competition.
