Decision does not affect the Premier League but anticipates the end of four divisions of English football. Last season the championships did not end either.
Many of the non-professional championships (in various modalities) are stopped, not only in Portugal, but also in several other countries. In the UK there are leagues that started in September, for the new season, but there were many postponements of games, until more were declared two general feedlots.
Many teams haven’t entered the field since November from last year and will not re-enter this season. Among the clubs in National League, 76 percent of clubs approved the immediate end of the season if fans are unable to enter the stadiums by the day April 1st.
At stake are four divisions – between the third and sixth (and last) – of the National League System, guided by the English federation, which is below the English Football League – which organizes the Championship, League One and League Two.
Most of the hundreds of clubs in these four levels of English football voted in favor of a scenario that will almost certainly happen – this week the Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced that there will be no fans on the sports grounds until the day may 17 (a few days before the end of the Premier League).
This Wednesday, the English football federation stressed in a statement that, in practice, the season has already ended in these four echelons of the National League System. The entity recalled that about 80 percent of the games have not yet taken place, due to constant postponements, and it would not be possible to complete the calendar this season.
It is the second consecutive season (as in other countries) in which the championships are interrupted. Almost a year ago, in March, all the results were canceled and the championships ended early.
