Spanish driver Fernando Alonso was hit by a car while riding a bicycle outside Lugano, Switzerland.
The two-time Formula 1 world champion, who this year will return to the championship for Alpine, was this Thursday hit by a carwhile riding a bicycle. The accident happened in Switzerland and the driver was hospitalized.
The news was advanced by The Gazzetta dello Sport and confirmed by Alpine, who explained that the Spanish is well and conscious, awaiting further exams this Friday.
“The Alpine F1 team can confirm that Fernando Alonso was involved in a road accident while riding a bicycle in Switzerland. Fernando is aware and well and will know the result of medical exams on Friday morning”, Indicated the French team, in a statement.

According to the Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, the first radiological exams to the Asturian pilot, 39 years old, “Would have shown possible fractures”.
