The sports portal Goal this Monday pointed out Diego Costa, former Atlético de Madrid and currently without a club, to Benfica.
According to the same source, Clube da Luz offers the player a salary of three million euros cleaned per season and a subscription premium of the same amount.
Brazilian footballer, remember, finds himself without a club afterwards to have terminated with the mattresses at the end of 2020. At the time, the 32-year-old forward claimed “personal reasons” for calling for an immediate end to the contract.
“The Hispanic-Brazilian player asked the club to disengage for personal reasons a few days ago and this Tuesday signed the termination of his contract, being disconnected from the club”, it can be read in the statement of the Spanish emblem.
The portal Goal also writes that a possible move to Lisbon pleases the player, who believes he still has a lot to give to European football.
Since arriving at Atlético in 2006, at just 17 years old, the Spanish-Brazilian striker has played 215 official matches in different periods, during which he scored 83 goals and counted 36 assists.
Diego Costa, who in Portugal represented Sporting de Braga it’s the Penafiel, aligned with mattresses in 2010/11, then in 2012/14, and finally between 2017 and 2020/21, when he played just seven games.
For the formation of Madrid, won a championship (2013/14), a King’s Cup (2013), a Europa League (2018) and two European Super Cups (2010 and 2018).
