IPL 2021 Auction Rules: Indian Premier League – 2021 Mini is all set for auction. The franchises will be competing to buy players with crores of rupees. Clause 1:
Franchisees decide a certain amount in advance in order to buy players. Players subject to this amount must be purchased. This amount is unique to each franchise. For IPL 2021, Chennai Super Kings will get Rs 19.9 crore, Delhi Rs 12.9 crore and Punjab Kings Rs. 53.2 crore, Kolkata Knight Riders Rs 10.75 crore, Mumbai Indians Rs 15.35 crore, Rajasthan Royals Rs 34.85 crore, RCB Rs 35.9 crore and Hyderabad Rs 10.75 crore. Franchisees that follow this amount will need to purchase players.
Clause 2:
As a rule of thumb, according to the BCC and IPL governing bodies, franchisees must use at least 75% of their holdings to buy players. If any franchise does not use this amount the rest of the money will be confiscated.
Clause 3:
RTM (Right to Match Card) enacted this provision from 2018. This approach is used to retain a player on their team during the auction. However, franchisees cannot use RTM to retain a player on their team due to the ongoing mini auction.
Rule 4:
The strength of the franchise should not exceed 25 players. At the same time the franchise should not be less than 18 in the team.
Clause 5:
Make sure there are at least 17 and a maximum of 25 Indian players in the squad, including caps and uncapped.
Clause 6:
The IPL squad will have a maximum of eight international players.
What is the difference between mega auction and mini auction?
The mini auction is currently being held in Chennai. And the difference between a mini and a mega auction song is that a mega auction takes place every three years.
