This Thursday, FC Porto announced the signing of Pepê to Grémio, for 15 million euros. The club was just waiting for the exchange of documents to proceed with the officialization.
The 23-year-old winger signs a contract valid for five seasons and arrives at Dragão only at the end of the season, in July. The player has already undergone medical examinations at the beginning of February.
According to Globo Esporte, Grémio will receive 10 million euros, paid in four installments in June and August 2021, and January and June 2022.
The rest will go to Foz do Iguaçu, the club where the striker showed himself to the world of football and holds 30% of its rights. The modest club will receive its share in August 2022.
However, Grémio has also confirmed the agreement: “Grêmio Foot-Ball Porto Alegrense and Futebol Clube do Porto jointly inform that they have reached an agreement for the transfer of 100% of the economic rights of the athlete Pepê”.
The Porto Alegre emblem still has 12.5% of the value of a future transfer. Thus, in the event of Pepê being sold, the amount that exceeds the 15 million euros paid now by FC Porto will be for the Brazilian club.
Pepê will stay at the Grémio until June 7 and took out insurance to prevent losses in case of injury.
The right-hand man can line up both on the right and left wing, where he favors the inner diagonals to shoot on goal. In 54 games played so far this season, Pepê scored 15 goals.
