CBF chose not to make friendlies due to the worsening of the pandemic; from April 5th to 13th the athletes will meet in Teresópolis for evaluation before the Olympic Games
In the late afternoon of Thursday, 25, the technique Pia Sundhage summoned the Brazilian Team for a period of preparation in the Comary Farm, in Teresópolis (RJ), between the 5th to the 13th of April. The list with 25 players mostly includes names of athletes who work in Brazil, due to travel restrictions on account of Covid-19 pandemic. A CBF informed that there will be no friendlies due to the worsening of the pandemic in the country. This is the third call of the selection in 2021. In January, Pia called a group of players for training in Viamão, in Rio Grande do Sul, and in February the selection faced the selections of Argentina, the United States and Canada in Torneio She Believes, in Orlando, United States.
Newly champion of Copa Libertadores de América, a Railway only Luciana was summoned for the training period. While Corinthians e Palm Trees were the record holders in number of players summoned, seven for each side. Defender Rafaelle of Changchun Dazhong, from China, and midfielder Andressa Alves, from Roma, were the only athletes outside.
