Sporting CP is already thinking about the squad for next season and will have contacted Portimonense to understand the availability of the Algarve to negotiate the sales of Samuel Portugal and Beto.
The newspaper O JOGO writes this Thursday that striker Beto and goalkeeper Samuel Portugal are options considered by SAD sportinguista.
Although the ‘lions’ are probing the players, there are more footballers on the list of possible reinforcements. Therefore, Sporting is still only evaluating its chances for the reopening of the transfer market.
Beto, 23-year-old Guinean, has scored six goals in 21 games this season. The player stands out for his strong physical structure, assuming himself as a powerful but mobile striker. Technically gifted, he already showed his grace by possibly scoring one of the best goals in the league this season.
With a contract valid until June 2023, the Algarve striker has a termination clause for EUR 40 million. However, it is unlikely that the player will cost a value remotely close to those values.
At the opposite end of Paulo Sérgio’s team is the goalkeeper Samuel Portugal, 27 years old. This year, the Brazilian makes his first season as a starter in the first team, after last year he stood out in the Algarve sub-23.
Samuel Portugal has a contract until 2025 and a EUR 30 million clause. It stands out for the quality between posts, but also outside them, namely in the ability to play with both feet. The Brazilian can replace Luís Maximiano as second goalkeeper of the ‘lions’.
With or without Samuel and Beto, the truth is that Sporting will keep the bet on the national market, writes the newspaper O JOGO.
