The Paços de Ferreira-Sporting de Braga, in the fifth round of the I League, will be led by a French referee, marking the debut of the exchange with the French referee board, announced the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF).
In a statement, the FPF Arbitration Council (CA) revealed that “the match between FC Paços de Ferreira and SC Braga will be directed by a french referee team, in the context of the exchange between the referees councils of the Portuguese Football Federation and the French Football Federation (FPF)”.
The french Willy Delajod will referee the match between Braga and Pacenses, leading a French refereeing team, composed of assistants Banjamin Pages and Phillippe Jeanne, and video referee (VAR) Eric Wattelier.
The reception of Paços de Ferreira, ranked eighth, with six points, to Sporting de Braga, fifth, with seven, is scheduled for this Saturday, at 15:30.
Also within the scope of this exchange between the referees of the FPF and the French Football Federation (FFF), the Portuguese Luís Godinho will make his debut in the top flight of French football on Sunday.
The 35-year-old Évora association referee will direct the meeting between Bordeaux and Lens, in the fifth round of Ligue 1, having as assistants Rui Teixeira and Bruno Jesus, as VAR Bruno Esteves and the latter as assistant (AVAR) Miguel Nogueira.
On April 19, the FPF and FFF announced this action, with a view to acquiring international experience and the evolution of the sector in both countries.
