The Observatory of Racial Discrimination in Football denounced comments made in the club’s publication
This Tuesday, 23, Palmeiras and Pulma announced the new uniforms of the club alviverde for the 2021 season. The green squared model will have its debut in the first game of the decision of Brazil’s Cup against Guild, next Sunday, the 28th. The campaign of the sports material supplier drew attention for having black actors, but not everyone liked the initiative. The profile of Observatory of Racial Discrimination in Football on Twitter denounced some racist comments in the campaign post. “Now all the propaganda from Puma has chimpa with cute hair. You can already build a next cast on the planet of monkeys, ”wrote one user.
The Observatory recalled that more than half of the Brazilian population is made up of black people and the presence of actors should not be surprising. “In a country where 56% of the population is black, how can blacks and blacks representing something positive cause so much disgust and hatred, even in the football space? So called democratic ”, quoted the Observatory. It is not possible to check whether the accounts used in criminal comments are from fans of the Palm Trees or fakes that used the post to distill prejudice.
THE racism it is growing more and more in the middle of football. Last week, William, a Brazilian player Chelsea from England, denounced racist comments he received on social media. On Monday, 22, former Brazilian midfielder Michel Bastos revealed that he suffered racism at a supermarket store in São Paulo.
THE @Palms launched its new uniform with the theme “Celebrate all the places where our color lives” @pumabrasil – but it seems that some fans did not understand the campaign or did not like it being composed of black models. After all we received several complaints of comments (+) pic.twitter.com/90XSQ08X2z

The @Palms he has had several black idols throughout his history wearing the alviverde shirt. Did these fans also bother? Or only when a black body occupies a prominent position can it not be there? (+) pic.twitter.com/AgWo6ub72a

today the racist attacks were in Palmeiras, football world, but they have been in other clubs and outside football. Will our society never accept blacks in prominent positions? And how long will clubs and officials be complicit in racist attacks?#ChegadePreconceito pic.twitter.com/6d7XlhSRSg
