The venture capital fund that concentrates contributions from other investors, such as Kinderhook Partners and Pacific Lake Partners, should make only one investment in the country. NeoAssist. Created in 2001, the company operates with omnichannel and earned 20 million reais in 2020.
With a 30% growth last year and more than 500 operations in Brazil, the company had all of its capital acquired by the fund as a way to obtain money to grow. Founders Albert Deweik and Roy Nasser step down and take up lower management positions. The presidency will be held by Anna Moreira Bianchi, managing partner of Oca Capital.
The interest in NeoAssist is given by the business model, which helps in the creation and integration of different service channels through a digitization process. The practice has become essential in recent years and gained momentum during the new coronavirus pandemic.
It was not a simple choice. Searches for an acquisition in Brazil started in July 2019. Two months later, in September of that year, Oca Capital met with NeoAssist managers and talks for an acquisition started and lasted until the beginning of this year. “It was a very long relationship,” says Bianchi. “I looked at over a thousand companies and I only had one shot.”
The money raised by Oca Capital will be used not only to purchase the operation, but also to enable the growth of the business that serves various segments, such as e-commerce companies, industries, fintechs, retail etc. “We are going to invest a lot in data analysis and focus on improving the consumer experience,” says Bianchi.
If the plans drawn up come true, NeoAssist should end 2021 with a growth of at least 40% in its revenue, totaling R $ 24 million. This increase should be guided by greater attention to medium and large customers. In its portfolio, NeoAssist has already provided services to companies such as Arezzo, Sephora, Livelo, Reserva, Decathlon, among others.
