THE Instagram announced on Monday, 1st, that it is expanding the number of co-participants in lives on the platform. Currently, a live can only be performed by one person and, with the implementation of the novelty, up to 3 other guests will be able to participate in the conversation in real time.
The functionality is launched at a time when interaction with a large number of people takes on new life with conversations in apps such as Clubhouse it’s the Twitter, which tests a product called “Spaces” and allows people to discuss topics in front of audiences.
“The ‘Live Rooms’ tool offers people and creators an alternative option to create content, providing a quick and simple way to connect with your community and audience and bring more people into the conversation,” said the social network, in note.
At the beginning of the pandemic, lives became the standard interaction between content creators and their audiences and had great public support. Despite this, in the course of 2020 they lost their breath and became less frequented. As the new forms of interaction are based on the premise of bringing together a larger number of people and facilitating interaction, Instagram tries to leverage its main tool in this regard.
In a blog post, the company also signaled that it will also “explore more interactive tools, such as offering moderation control and audio functions in the coming months”. Both are the definers of the Clubhouse chat rooms.
The feature is available within the lives feature on Instagram. Just open the app, move to the left, select the “live” functionality and click on the “Room” icon to include people in the live.
