At a time when buying kitchen gas can be a challenge – in the North, it cost R $ 113.00 in March – being able to buy it over the internet and get part of the money back can be an advantage to save. By intensifying competition for payment applications, the RechargePay now offers the “Gas” function within its platform. With it, consumers can buy cooking gas on the spot in the app, with up to 8% cashback (part of the purchase money back, in credit format in RecargaPay’s digital wallet) and discount on the first purchase.

“Ultragaz’s partnership with RecargaPay offers the consumer another channel to purchase the gas cylinder. Aligned with our omnichannel strategy, it guarantees product availability for all customers of the platform and enables increased sales for our resellers “, says Diego Lomeu, Ultragaz’s customer experience manager.
To use the function, just download the RecargaPay application, click on “Gas” and “I want to buy now”. The app should ask the user to set up the zip code and select how many units they want to buy. Then, it is necessary to click on “Deliver now” and choose the payment method (credit, debit, pix or balance in the digital wallet). After this step, just follow the order until you reach the residence.
In relation to cashback, the amount may vary: in order to have 8% of the amount spent on the gas back in the account, it is necessary to be a customer of the Prime + plan or to pay with the balance of the digital wallet. Those who do not meet any of these requirements should receive 4% of the amount spent on the purchase.
The RecargaPay initiative comes to compete with other apps for buying cylinders. Previously, Ultragaz itself had already launched the Ultragaz Connect app, which is still in operation. Currently, in mobile payment applications, RecargaPay is the only one to offer gas bottles to prompt delivery. In it, the purchase process works differently: it is necessary to enter the zip code, fill in the data and talk to an attendant to finalize the order. In addition, there is no cashback.
Another popular application for the purchase of gas is Chama, installed in more than 7 million applications, according to information available on the App Store. The platform is focused on connecting resellers and consumers and, for that, it counts on the availability of different brands: Ultragaz, Liquigás, Consigaz, Nacional Gás, SuperGasBras and Copagaz.
The online sale of gas makes even more sense within the general digitalization movement of companies. In the first quarter alone, there was an increase of 72.2% in relation to the same period in 2020, with revenues of R $ 35.2 billion. With consumers increasingly digital, the way is to join the game – and increase the opportunity to win.
