O Twitter announced this Wednesday that it will turn off the function that allows sending tweets that disappear after a while, called “Fleets”, on Aug. 3, after the feature was not popular with users.
The product’s closure comes eight months after the social network launched Fleets to all users and one month after it began testing advertising within the tool.

Users could only react to fleets through direct messages. At the time of the release of the new, the dThe company’s product director said the idea was that the fleets would help people share fleeting thoughts they would hardly write on Twitter
Twitter said it has not seen an increase in the number of users using Fleets as expected.
