Prime Time Zone, Telangana Bureau: Demand is mounting from parents of students to reduce the syllabus by 50 per cent in the tenth class in the wake of declining academic year. The Department of Education has already announced that 70 per cent of the syllabus will be taken in the Class X examinations to be held from May 17. It was decided to reduce the syllabus for the examination by 30 per cent. However, the Hyderabad School Parents Association (HSPA) wants the government to simplify the examination process by reducing the syllabus to 50 per cent. The association requested that assignments and syllabus lessons be provided to students in video form. Association leader Venkata Sainath urged the government to take steps to keep students away from exams due to non-payment of fees. He called for disciplinary action against schools that refuse to allow students to write tests for any reason.
