Portugal registered over 458 new cases and five deaths by covid-19 in the last 24 hours, according to data from the Directorate-General for Health. Since June, the country has not had such a low number of new cases.
According to the epidemiological bulletin of the DGS, Portugal registered over 458 new cases of covid-19 in the last 24 hours and more five deaths. There are also 17 more inpatients than yesterday. On Sunday there were eight deaths and 911 new cases.
The incidence of new cases per 100,000 inhabitants dropped to 208.3 cases, compared to 240.7 recorded in the latest data released. The transferability risk also dropped to 0.85 from 0.87 in the previous update.
Since June 7th, the country has not registered a number of new cases daily so low, when there were 388 new infections by the new coronavirus in one day.
Portugal also passed the barrier of a million people who recovered of covid-19 – a total of 1,000,811. There are currently 37,365 active cases in the country.
Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, Portugal has registered a total of 17,866 deaths associated with covid-19 and 1,056,042 infections with the SARS CoV-2 coronavirus.
