In the last 24 hours, there were 63 more deaths in Portugal and 1,032 new cases of covid-19. There are 4,567 recovered this Tuesday.
According to data from the epidemiological bulletin released this Tuesday by the Directorate-General for Health (DGS), Portugal registers 63 deaths and 1,032 new cases of covid-19 in the last 24 hours. Active cases continue to record a decrease: this Tuesday, they dropped to 77,044 (minus 3,598 active cases of infection).
The region of Lisbon and the Tagus Valley recorded the highest number of cases this Tuesday (493 cases of infection, which is equivalent to 47.7%). Next are the North region (186 cases), Center (146), Algarve (61), Alentejo (50), Madeira (93) and Azores (3).
After this Monday, which was the day with the lowest number of new infections since October, this Tuesday has the second lowest number of cases in the last 138 days, since 8 October.
Regarding hospitalizations, the DGS bulletin reveals that 3,012 patients are hospitalized (minus 310), of which 597 are in intensive care (minus 30). The drop in ICU admissions this Tuesday is the 11th in a row.
They were given as 4,567 more patients recovered. This means that, in total, 705,976 people have recovered from the disease since the beginning of the pandemic.
For 23 consecutive days, the number of recoveries exceeds that of new infections.
So far, the covid-19 pandemic has killed 16,086 people in Portugal. As of this Tuesday, there are a total of 705,976 recovered, 70,767 contacts under surveillance (8,932 less than on Monday) and 799,106 confirmed cases.
