Another latest development in the Tamil Nadu elections … The DMK, led by actor Vijay Kant, withdrew from the AIADMK-BJP alliance.
Another latest development in the Tamil Nadu elections is the withdrawal of actor Vijay Kant-led DMDK from the AIADMK-BJP alliance. Despite three rounds of talks between the party and the alliance, the DMK is believed to have left as a result of the AIADMK’s refusal to give them as many seats as they wanted. According to the agreement already reached between AIADMK and BJP, BJP will contest in 20 seats. CM and Anna DMK leader Palaniswami will contest from Edapadi constituency and his deputy Panneer Selvam Bodinayakanur will contest. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the AIADMK-BJP alliance was almost wiped out. It lost 38 of the 39 Lok Sabha seats in the state. The BJP, which wants to win the southern Paga, lost all the five seats it contested. But in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, the AIADMK won 37 seats (44.3 per cent of the vote) but then fell to Dela. Today, with just 5.1 per cent of the vote, Vijay Kant’s party failed to win a single seat.
In this election, actor Kamal Haasan’s party, Makkal Needi Mayyam will contest in 154 seats. He said the remaining seats were allotted to their allies. It is known that there is an alliance between DMK and Congress. The DMK has allotted 25 seats to the Congress party under this seat adjustment. The TTV Dinakaran party and the Asaduddin Owaisi party are in cahoots with the MIM. To this extent MIM will compete for three seats. However, Dinakaran announced the matter on his Twitter account and the OIC is yet to officially announce its decision.
